'''ઉધઈ''' એક નાનકડું જંતુ છે. તેને અંગ્રેજી ભાષામાં વ્હાઈટ એન્ટ (White ant) અથવા ટર્માઈટ (Termite) તરીકે પણ ઓળખવામાં આવે છે. ઉધઈ કીડીની માફક ઝૂંડમાં ફરતી જોવા મળે છે. ઉધઈનો ખોરાક લાકડું, લાકડામાંથી બનેલી વસ્તુઓ અને ઝાડ-પાંદડાં હોય છે. તે મોટેભાગે જગતભરના બધા જ ભાગોમાં જોવા મળે છે. તે લાકડાને એવી રીતે ખાય છે કે પછી લાકડું આખું સડી જાય છે અને કોઈ પણ કામનું નથી રહેતું.
