કુર્કુટાકાર

કુર્કુટાકાર એ ભારે શરીરવાળા, મોટે ભાગે જમીન પર દાણા ચણતા પક્ષીઓનું ગોત્ર છે જેમાં ટર્કી, તેતર, મરઘા, નવી અને જુની દુનીયાના લાવરી પક્ષીઓ વગેરેનો સમાવેશ કરવામાં આવે છે. બીજા સામાન્ય નામોમાં આ પક્ષીઓના ગોત્રને શીકાર માટેનાં પક્ષીઓ પણ કહેવાય છે. આ સમુહ માં ૨૯૦ જેટલી જાતિ છે જેમાંની કોઇ ને કોઇ જાતિતો દુનિયાનાં પ્રત્યેક ખંડ પર જોવા મળી જ જાય છે સિવાય કે તે જગ્યાઓ કે જે રણ કે બરફવાળી એકદમ અંતરીયાળ જગ્યાઓ હોય.
