== ઇતિહાસ ==
અફઘાનિસ્તાન પ્રાચીન કાળમાં [[ભારતીય સંસ્કૃતી]]નોસંસ્કૃતિનો ભાગ હતું. ત્યાર પછી ઉત્તરથી આવેલ મુસલમાનો ત્યાં વસ્યા હતાં. [[બીજું વિશ્વયુદ્ધ|બીજા વિશ્વયુદ્ધ]] પછી તે એક મુસ્લીમ રાષ્ટ્ર બન્યું જેમાં કુદરતી સંપત્તિનો લગભગ સંપૂર્ણ પણે અભાવ હતો. [[ઠંડુ યદ્ધ|ઠંડા યદ્ધ]] દરમ્યાન [[સોવિયેત સંઘ]] એ અફઘાનિસ્તાનને પોતાનામાં સમાવી લેવાના ઘણા પ્રયત્નો કર્યા હતાં, જે અફઘાનિસ્તાન એ અમેરીકા તથા અરબીદેશોનીઆરબ દેશોની વિવિધ પ્રકારની મદદથી, કપરી અને લોહીયાળ લડત વડે ખાળ્યા હતા. આ કાળ બાદપછી અફઘાનિસ્તાનમાં એક ખૂબજ રૂઢીચુસ્ત અને કેટલેક અંશે ક્રૂર અને આપખુદ [[તાલિબાન]] સરકારની સ્થાપના થઇ હતી. [[૧૧ સપ્ટેમ્બર]]નાસપ્ટેમ્બરના પરિણામે [[સંયુક્ત રાજ્ય|સંયુક્ત રાજ્ય અમેરિકા]] એ અફઘાનિસ્તાન પર હુમલો કરી તાલિબાન સરકાર હટાવી નવા રાજ્યતંત્રની સ્થાપના કરી.
