• વિકિપીડિયા:ગુજરાતીમાં કેવી રીતે ટાઇપ કરવું એ જોઈને થોડો મહાવરો કરવાથી આ જ્ઞાનકોશમાં આપ ફેરફાર કરી શકશો.
• સૌથી પહેલાં આપનો પરિચય અહીં મારા વિષેમાં આપશો તો વધુ સારું રહેશે, કેમકે તે તમારૂં પોતાનું પાનું છે, તમે ત્યાં ગમે તેટલા પ્રયોગો કરી શકો છો અને તમારા વિષે તમને જે યોગ્ય લાગે તે અન્ય વિકિપીડિયનોને જણાવી શકો છો. આ માટે સભ્ય પાનાંની નીતિ જોઇ લેવા વિનંતી છે. તમારી માહિતી વાંચીને અન્યોને તમારો સંપર્ક કયા સંદર્ભે કરવો તેની પણ જાણકારી મળી રહેશે.
• લખવાની શરૂઆત કરતા પહેલા આ નીતિ વિષયક લેખો: નિષ્પક્ષ દૃષ્ટિકોણ, પ્રારંભિક સંશોધન નહીં અને ચકાસણીયોગ્યતા તથા વિકિપીડિયા:વાચકો દ્વારા વારંવાર પૂછાતા સવાલો વાંચી જુઓ જેથી આપે આગળ કેવી રીતે વધવું તેનો ખ્યાલ આવી શકે.
• આપને લાગે કે સારા લખાણને ફેરફાર કરવાથી નુકસાન થશે તો ચર્ચા વિભાગમાં જઈ ફેરફાર કરો. આપે ક્યાં અને શું ફેરફાર કરેલ છે એની નોંધ જોઇ આપને આત્મસંતોષ થશે.
• ફેરફાર કરવા માટે લોગ ઈન (પ્રવેશ) કરવું જરૂરી નથી, પણ લોગ ઈન કરીને કાર્ય કરવાથી એની બરોબર નોંધ થાય છે. એટલે વિકિપીડિયા ઉપર હમેશાં લોગ ઇન કરીને જુઓ અને આપના જ્ઞાનનો લાભ બીજાને પણ આપો.
• નવો લેખ શરૂ કરતાં પહેલા, મુખપૃષ્ઠ પર શોધોમાં શબ્દ ટાઇપ કરીને શોધી જુઓ, અને જો આપને ચોક્કસ જોડણીની માહિતી ના હોય તો જુદી જુદી જોડણી વડે શબ્દ શોધીને પાકી ખાત્રી કર્યા બાદ જ નવો લેખ શરૂ કરવા વિનંતી.
• ક્યાંય પણ અટવાઓ કે મૂંઝાઓ તો નિ:સંકોચ મારો (નીચે લખાણને અંતે સમય અને તારીખનાં પહેલાં લખેલા નામ પર ક્લિક કરીને) કે અન્ય પ્રબંધકોનો સંપર્ક કરશો અને જો ત્યાંથી પણ આપને જવાબ ન મળે તો ચોતરા પર જઈને અન્ય સભ્યોને પૂછવા માટે નવી ચર્ચા ચાલુ કરી શકો છો. ચર્ચાના પાને લખાણ કર્યા પછી અંતે (--~~~~) ટાઈપ કરી અથવા પર ક્લિક કરી અને આપની સહી કરવાનું ભૂલશો નહિ.

WMF Board Governance meeting Gujarati community on March 7 (Sunday) from 12 pm to 1 pm

The Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees is organizing a call for feedback about community selection processes between February 1 and March 14. While the Wikimedia Foundation and the movement have grown about five times in the past ten years, the Board’s structure and processes have remained basically the same. As the Board is designed today, we have a problem of capacity, performance, and lack of representation of the movement’s diversity. Our current processes to select individual volunteer and affiliate seats have some limitations. Direct elections tend to favor candidates from the leading language communities, regardless of how relevant their skills and experience might be in serving as a Board member, or contributing to the ability of the Board to perform its specific responsibilities. It is also a fact that the current processes have favored volunteers from North America and Western Europe. As a matter of fact, there had only been one member who served on the Board, from South Asia, in more than fifteen years of history.

In the upcoming months, we need to renew three community seats and appoint three more community members in the new seats. This call for feedback is to see what processes can we all collaboratively design to promote and choose candidates that represent our movement and are prepared with the experience, skills, and insight to perform as trustees? In this regard, a meeting with the Gujarati community has been scheduled to discuss the proposed ideas and collect your thoughts and feedback. The meeting is on March 7 (Sunday) from 12 pm to 1 pm. [Wikimedia Foundation elections 2021] Candidates meet with South Asia + ESEAP communities

Hello,

As you may already know, the 2021 Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees elections are from 4 August 2021 to 17 August 2021. Members of the Wikimedia community have the opportunity to elect four candidates to a three-year term. After a three-week-long Call for Candidates, there are 20 candidates for the 2021 election.

An event for community members to know and interact with the candidates is being organized. During the event, the candidates will briefly introduce themselves and then answer questions from community members. The event details are as follows:

• Date: 31 July 2021 (Saturday)

• Bangladesh: 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm
• India & Sri Lanka: 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm
• Nepal: 4:15 pm to 6:45 pm

June Month Celebration 2022 edit-a-thon

Dear User,

CIS-A2K is announcing June month mini edit-a-thon which is going to take place on 25 & 26 June 2022 (on this weekend). The motive of conducting this edit-a-thon is to celebrate June Month which is also known as pride month.

This time we will celebrate the month, which is full of notable days, by creating & developing articles on local Wikimedia projects, such as proofreading the content on Wikisource if there are any, items that need to be created on Wikidata [edit Labels & Descriptions], some June month related content must be uploaded on Wikimedia Commons and so on. It will be a two-days long edit-a-thon to increase content about the month of June or related to its days, directly or indirectly. Anyone can participate in this event and the link you can find here. WikiConference India 2023: Open Community Call and Extension of program and scholarship submissions deadline

Thank you for supporting Wiki Conference India 2023. We are humbled by the number of applications we have received and hope to learn more about the work that you all have been doing to take the movement forward. In order to offer flexibility, we have recently extended our deadline for the Program and Scholarships submission- you can find all the details on our Meta Page.

COT is working hard to ensure we bring together a conference that is truly meaningful and impactful for our movement and one that brings us all together. With an intent to be inclusive and transparent in our process, we are committed to organizing community sessions at regular intervals for sharing updates and to offer an opportunity to the community for engagement and review.
