No page links to this title currently. Let's not create foreign language redirects.
- The reason why I made it is because on many foreign language Wikipedias the redirects are meant to push people to where the article should go, in case the user doesn't know how to write the name in that language. On the Chinese Wikipedia many redirects are created from Latin language names.
- But, in that case, shouldn't we have redirects from titles in all other plausible languages, e.g. German, French, etc. Why should this bias towards English (or any particular language) be there?
- Remember that the subject is English of origin, so Transport for London would be the English name. If it was a French subject, it would be French. If it was German, German, etc. Also the agency uses the English name "Transport for London" in other European languages.
- We will work according to our local policy; doesn't matter language or subject origin. I will talk to one of the admins and we will act accordingly.(As it is summer vacations here and it is scorching hot... both are out of town on vacation)!!! In the mean time you can discuss your views and counter views on why should we keep or shouldn't keep this redirect. I am not here to stop your discussion because it may throw up valid points.--Vyom25 (talk) ૧૧:૩૭, ૩ મે ૨૦૧૩ (IST)
- On other Wikipedia projects, whether a redirect is appropriate depends on the context. If, say, the subject is of Spanish origin it's okay to redirect its Spanish name to the name in the Wikipedia's language, but it's not okay to redirect, say, a Japanese name to the Wikipedia's language (unless the Wikipedia is Japanese) WhisperToMe (talk) ૦૪:૦૦, ૪ મે ૨૦૧૩ (IST)
I would like to again add here that we will work here according to local policy. I know many other wikis have different MO but we haven't done it here. One other thing if you want to go to English or any other language article you can see the links in left hand side pane.--Vyom25 (talk) ૧૧:૧૫, ૪ મે ૨૦૧૩ (IST)
(vyomji, please translate my view for our friends. thanks.) In short, I am agree with mr.rahul.--અશોક મોઢવાડીયાચર્ચા/યોગદાન ૧૬:૫૫, ૩ મે ૨૦૧૩ (IST)
- (Translation) For that we can create named page, add primary details and we can give links for English and other language links. (Now through Wikidata). (Oh!!! good it's already done). Otherwise it is not proper to keep the title in English and redirect it to that article.--Vyom25 (talk) ૧૧:૧૫, ૪ મે ૨૦૧૩ (IST)
